Where automation actually saves time (and where it doesn't)
August 4, 2026 · 6 min read

Firms often come to us assuming every repetitive task should be automated. In practice, the highest-return automation targets share three traits: they happen often, they follow a consistent rule set, and a delay in completing them creates a downstream cost.
Intake forms, document review, and scheduling tend to score high on all three. A one-off exception process usually doesn't, and trying to automate it anyway just adds a layer of brittle logic your team has to maintain.
Before we recommend any AI solution, we map the workflow end to end and ask where the actual time and cost are being lost. Sometimes the answer is automation. Sometimes it's a simpler fix: better handoffs, clearer ownership, or removing a step that no longer serves a purpose.
The goal is never to add technology for its own sake. It's to give your team back the hours that are currently disappearing into avoidable friction.
